Job Description:
- Website Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive and visually appealing websites for our business using the latest web technologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with director to translate business requirements into functional and user-friendly web solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration of design elements, branding guidelines, and user interface components to create a cohesive online experience.
- E-commerce Integration:
- Customise and configure e-commerce platforms to meet the specific needs of our textiles business.
- Implement product catalogues, pricing structures, inventory management systems, and checkout processes to facilitate online transactions.
- Optimise the online shopping experience by integrating secure payment gateways, shipping options, and order tracking functionalities.
- Content Management and SEO:
- Manage and update website content, including product listings, descriptions, and images, to ensure accuracy, relevance, and SEO optimisation.
- Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility, search engine rankings, and organic traffic.
- Performance Optimisation:
- Monitor website performance metrics, including page load times, bounce rates, and conversion rates, and identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and usability across various devices and screen sizes.
- Implement performance enhancements, caching mechanisms, and code optimisations to improve website speed, reliability, and user experience.
- Technical Support and Maintenance:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to address website-related issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with hosting providers, domain registrars, and third-party vendors to ensure server stability, security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, software updates, and security patches to maintain the integrity and security of the website infrastructure.
Person specification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Web Developer with a strong portfolio of web development projects.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
- Experience with back-end development languages and frameworks such as PHP, Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails.
- In-depth knowledge of e-commerce platforms, CMS systems, and web development tools.
- Familiarity with SEO principles, Google Analytics, and web performance optimization techniques
